Tele2: 4G LTE launch

In the spring of 2013 mobile operator Tele2 launched its 4G LTE services in five Lithuanian cities. To promote the high-speed mobile internet, 4G services were presented for the target audiences – media and local decision makers. Presentation was very successful due to maximum engagement of journalists and bloggers into the 4G testing.

SITUATION
In the spring 2013 mobile operator Tele2 launched its 4G LTE services in Lithuania. The new generation high-speed mobile internet was firstly launched in Alytus, Marijampolė, Mažeikiai, Jonava and Utena.


SOLUTION
VRP | Hill+Knowlton Strategies arranged an event in one of the first 4G cities – Alytus. The idea was to present the high-speed mobile internet for both the national and local media as well as target local audiences, such as Alytus municipality representatives and local businessmen. To achieve a quality communication of the new service, the presentation for journalists and bloggers also included a Tele2 4G mobile internet testing. While visiting popular cultural objects in Alytus, journalists and bloggers performed prepared tasks and thus tested Tele2 4G speed, coverage and accessibility in Alytus. 


RESULT
New service received a broad coverage in national and local media, as well as widely-known blogs. Famous journalists and bloggers presented Tele2 4G services from personal experience. Their positive evaluation had a greater value on the whole new service communication.
